My one (1) week experience living independently…

September 15, since my sister and her husband decided to stay with us for a while, I took the opportunity to stay at their condo for a week. It’s nearer to our office and to almost everywhere else. That week, I also went to a friend’s wedding and since I was not sure if my boss would allow me to go on leave on that day, at least it would be much nearer to go to work after the wedding.

So here is what happened in chronological order:

Tuesday: I packed my things and leave the house at 3:00PM. I stopped by the supermarket to get some basic groceries (I figured that I’ll be eating in the office so having food in the condo will release me from having to do the dishes and pots and pans) so all I got was two bags of pandesal, a bag of wheat bread, a liter of chuckie, and a gallon of Wilkins mineral water.

I drive off to the condo, unpacked my stuff, walked a good 10 minutes to the room, walked back down and parked the car in the allocated parking “lot”. Take note, there is no building parking but a parking lot for all tenants so it does not make a difference whether you live across it or 2-3 blocks from it. (An in-depth review of it in my review page soon)

Slept in their bed and woke up 3 hours later, took a bath and went to work. No biggie.

Wednesday: After a good meal in the office for lunch, going home, I got a little hungry. But since there was no food, all I had was 3 pieces of pandesal, a gulp of chuckie and two gulps of mineral water. During this time, my gout was starting to act up again. So I was beginning to sense that coming here was a bad idea.

Thursday, I head home after work and slept, woke up at 3:30 and went to a friend’s wedding.

Friday: The gout makes a big entrance and I call in sick. This was when I was starting to think if I should pack my stuff and go home but with the things I have and the gout. It would be close to impossible to do this. So I asked Jay to fly by after his work and get me some Feldene Flash for my gout and a BigMac and Chicken Fillet sandwich for dinner.

Saturday: The gout slowly subsides but still painful, I stood up at 5:00 PM, packed my stuff, cleaned a bit and brought all my stuff to the car because I was dead set on going home on Sunday morning after work.

Overall, the experience was overwhelming. Living alone sucks especially if you have the gout. There’s so much things to do in the condo and the surrounding places but with the gout, I was deemed useless.

So now, I am back home and so glad that it’s all over. My sister was right. You can’t live n a condo like that without a partner.

So that’s it. I’m sure I’ll be adding more stuff to this but this is what I have so far
